Dangerous Fool Sprays Busy Traffic With Gravel | Edhat

At 4:10pm today (2022-10-12) on Cathedral Oaks at County Rd a man in his dark red truck did "donuts" in the dirt, blithely spraying traffic with gravel.

My car was hit by several rocks on the driver's side. My windshield was cracked in two places. At least 6 other cars were present and probably sustained similar damage.

That area is often inhabited by pickups and idiots selling defaced flags.

Edhat Reader: Not much you can do about it, but hopefully your insurance will pay for your new windshield. Whenever I see someone doing donuts and spraying gravel into the road I slow down and steer as far away from the flying debris as possible. If insurance does not pay for a new windshield, I'd recommend 'Best Price Auto Glass' in Goleta as they may have a used one in stock (or they can get one from an auto recycler).

Thanks for the perfect example of what makes a bad driver.

@2:34: I can easily avoid those types of things at pretty much any speed. I have always had lightning-fast reflexes, and know how to handle myself behind the wheel. I realize not everyone has my skills. I will admit that I am often guilty of speeding, but at least no one gets stuck behind me. Plus, for some reason I am able to talk my way out of some tickets ("Yes officer, I probably was going a tad over the speed limit.") LOL!!!

At 35+ mph you would have avoided gravel spraying across the road? LOL, whatever you say.

I guess you're lucky it wasn't a cop...they fly up that hill, gravel spewing, all the time. No more unsafe drivers in this town than the police.
